After your Teleport service has been set up, you will receive an URL to access the Teleport Web UI. Follow these steps to log in for the first time:

Open the Teleport Web UI

Open the provided URL in your web browser to access the Teleport Web UI.

Authenticate

Depending on the authentication method configured, sign in with your GitHub, Google, or local Teleport credentials.

GitHub or Google Authentication

You will be redirected to the respective OAuth provider's login page. Enter your credentials and authorize the application to access your account.

Local Teleport Authentication

You will receive a setup link to create your local Teleport user.

Set up your account

Configure a strong password for your account.

Set Teleport Password

Enable two-factor authentication (2FA)

Choose between TOTP (Time-based One-Time Password) or a hardware security key (U2F) for two-factor authentication (2FA).

Setup Teleport MFA

Using a built-in hardware Key

If your device supports WebAuthn (like Windows Hello or Touch ID), you can use it as a hardware security key for 2FA.
