Strategy Sync April 2026: Three Days in the Swiss Alps
Our biannual Strategy Sync took us to Veysonnaz in Valais. Three days of marketing strategy, personal exchange, and team building in the Swiss Alps.
Every six months, we retreat to the Swiss Alps for three days to run our Strategy Sync. This time, we headed to Veysonnaz in the canton of Valais.
Thursday: Arrival
After a challenging search for our chalet between ski slopes, underpasses, and narrow alleys, we finally settled into our rooms. What followed immediately was a generous apéro, organized by our resident cheese connaisseur Jan Fuhrer.
That same evening, our management team delivered a company update with a transparent look at financials, business performance, and the outlook for the months ahead.
Friday: Marketing Framework and Working Groups
After reflecting on where we stand and aligning on direction for the coming months, Friday's focus was clear: our marketing. We took a hard look at how we present ourselves publicly and how we can sharpen our positioning going forward.

Through structured discussions and open exchanges, a wide range of ideas emerged around our public presence across website, social media, events, and other channels. The diversity of perspectives within the team delivered valuable input and pushed our thinking forward. Our board member Hanspeter Oeschger, with his extensive experience in business leadership, contributed approaches that were new to many of us.

After the concept phase, we moved straight into execution. Responsibilities were clearly assigned and topic-specific teams formed. We worked hands-on across blog posts, events, social media, our service catalogue, and whitepapers. Each group presented their results, and we refined them iteratively.
Saturday: Personal Memos, Coaching, and Dinner
Before the Strategy Sync, everyone prepared personal memos on a single A4 page. On Saturday morning, these served as the basis for exchange around key questions: How am I doing? What has improved? What do we still need to work on?
Reading and reflecting on each other's memos deepened both the personal and professional dialogue. This open exchange builds trust and transparency within the team.
In the afternoon, we held a longer video call with our board member Dave Grissim. We presented our Strategy Sync results in groups, and Dave contributed his thoughts and experience.
We wrapped up Saturday evening with a walk followed by dinner at a local restaurant.

Sunday: Departure
At our final breakfast, we made the most of all leftover food from the previous days, resulting in some remarkably creative dishes. Handing back the chalet was smooth and uncomplicated.
A big thank you to Chalet Sonas for the hospitality. The drive back to the canton of Bern was mostly trouble-free. Mostly, because a marten had been chewing on Michael's car during our stay, which made for an unexpected surprise at departure.

More Than Just Strategy
Beyond the work itself, personal exchange during the retreat matters just as much to us. Cooking together, sports, board games, apéros, and deep conversations in the hot tub are all part of what makes the Strategy Sync what it is.

We're heading back with plenty of new ideas, clear next steps, and most importantly, a lot of energy. Now it's about turning the impulses from the retreat into concrete results.
We're curious to see what comes of it, and we're looking forward to taking the next steps together.
