The situation
Inova Solutions builds and runs SaaS products for its customers. Over the years the SaaS team had accumulated several Kubernetes clusters. Each was set up at a different time, with its own conventions for ingress, monitoring and deployments. Keeping them patched and consistent took time away from product development.
What Natron did
We migrated the clusters to Natron's managed Kubernetes platform and consolidated them. Every cluster now runs the same base: Cilium, cert-manager, the Prometheus and Grafana stack, Loki and Velero. Argo CD handles GitOps deployments and Harbor is the image registry.
We migrated workload by workload and kept both environments running in parallel. The SaaS team checked each product before we switched the old cluster off. Natron took over patching, upgrades, backups and monitoring.
The outcome
Inova runs fewer clusters, all under one operating model. The SaaS team no longer maintains clusters and spends that time on the product. The engineers who ran the migration are also the ones on call for the platform.
